Award Nomination Instructions

Instructions for Making Award Nominations

All forms and supplemental materials should be submitted by email to GMDI (info@gmdi.org)

To nominate a colleague for Emerging Leader or Pacesetter Awards:

  • Submit completed Nomination Form and Letter(s) of Recommendation by October 15, 2025
  • GMDI will contact Nominee to request other required information

To nominate a colleague for the Phyllis B. Acosta Lifetime Achievement Award:

  • Submit completed Nomination Form, Letters of Recommendation, and CV (optional) by October 15, 2025
  • Nominee is not required to submit an application or personal statement
  • Nominations for this special award should be kept private form the nominee until awards are announced

For self-nominations (Pacesetter and Emerging Leader Awards only):

  • Submit complete Application form, CV or Biosketch, personal statement and required letters of recommendation by November 7, 2025

Timeline

  • October 15:  Deadline for submitting nominations; GMDI contacts nominees to request additional information
  • November 7:  Deadline by which nominees for Pacesetter or Emerging Leader Awards must submit completed application and other required materials.  This is also the deadline for self-nominations (application form, CV or Biosketch, personal statement and required letters of recommendation
  • Award recipients will be notified by mid-December
  • At GMDI Conference (April every 2 years):
    • Award presented by GMDI President at GMDI member meeting
    • If awardee is not attending GMDI Conference, they may appoint a representative who is attending the conference to accept the award on their behalf.  Alternatively, GMDI will send the award directly to awardee.
