Joyanna Hansen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular & Medical Genetics at Oregon Health & Science University. After completing an undergraduate degree in biochemistry, she earned a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and then completed her dietetic internship at OHSU. She has been a metabolic dietitian in the OHSU Medical Genetics clinic since 2014, providing individualized nutrition care to children and adults with inborn errors of metabolism. Joyanna also teaches nutrition courses in the OHSU Graduate Programs in Human Nutrition and is a research mentor for Master’s students. Her current research interests include nutrition management of individuals with inborn errors of metabolism, and gene-diet interactions that influence health outcomes.
